The transfemoral brim is the uppermost margin of a thigh-level prosthetic socket, engineered to contain and support the soft tissue and bony prominences of the residual limb without causing pressure injuries. Brim design—whether quadrilateral or ischial containment—directly affects load distribution, pelvic stability, and gait quality.
