Unlike multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary teams, a transdisciplinary team in rehab technology deliberately blurs professional boundaries: an occupational therapist may, for example, perform tasks traditionally assigned to a speech-language pathologist after structured role release. This model is common in complex assistive technology evaluations where a single clinician-technologist pairing coordinates all domains. Editors encounter the term in clinical reports, funding submissions, and journal articles on augmentative communication or powered mobility. It is frequently confused with 'multidisciplinary,' which retains separate disciplinary roles.
