Electroglottography (EGG) is an instrumental assessment method that monitors vocal fold contact patterns by measuring electrical impedance changes across the larynx during voice production. Electrodes placed on either side of the thyroid cartilage detect conductivity variations as vocal folds make and break contact during vibration cycles. The resulting EGG waveform provides information about contact duration, vocal fold closure patterns, and vibratory phase relationships, making it valuable for voice disorder diagnosis and therapy monitoring.
