Full Definition

A spine surgery technique that involves accessing the cervical spine from the front of the neck to remove herniated or degenerated disc material. After disc removal, a bone graft or cage is inserted to maintain disc height and promote fusion between adjacent vertebrae. This procedure is commonly performed to treat cervical disc herniation, degenerative disc disease, or cervical radiculopathy when conservative treatments have failed.
