Full Definition

A spinal condition characterized by the anterior displacement (forward slippage) of one vertebra relative to the vertebra immediately below it. Spondylolisthesis is graded from I to V based on the percentage of vertebral body displacement. It can be caused by various factors including congenital defects, stress fractures (spondylolysis), degenerative changes, or trauma. The condition most commonly occurs at the L5-S1 level and may cause lower back pain, leg pain, or neurological symptoms.
