Ureteroscopy is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure using a thin, flexible or rigid endoscope (ureteroscope) to visualize the interior of the ureter and renal collecting system. The procedure allows direct visualization of ureteral and renal pathology, stone removal, biopsy collection, and treatment of strictures. It is frequently performed for stone disease, urothelial tumors, and diagnostic evaluation of hematuria or filling defects seen on imaging.
