YV-plasty is a plastic surgical technique that involves creating a Y-shaped incision and closing it in a V-pattern to achieve tissue lengthening and tension reduction. In urologic surgery, this technique is frequently employed during hypospadias repair to lengthen the ventral aspect of the penis, correct chordee, and provide adequate tissue for urethral reconstruction. The procedure redistributes tissue tension and can significantly improve both functional and cosmetic outcomes. YV-plasty may also be used in other urologic reconstructive procedures where tissue lengthening is required, such as in certain cases of buried penis or penile torsion correction.
