CRT-P (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy-Pacemaker) represents a specialized three-lead pacing system designed to improve cardiac function in patients with heart failure and ventricular dyssynchrony. The device simultaneously paces the right ventricle and left ventricle (via the coronary sinus) to restore coordinated ventricular contraction, potentially improving ejection fraction, exercise capacity, and quality of life. Unlike CRT-D devices, CRT-P systems do not include defibrillation capabilities and are reserved for patients who do not meet criteria for ICD therapy or have contraindications to high-voltage therapy.
