Antisperm antibodies are immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, or IgM) that recognize and bind to sperm antigens, potentially interfering with sperm transport, capacitation, or fertilization. They can be present in either partner and may result from infection, trauma, or autoimmune processes. Testing involves immunobead binding tests or mixed antiglobulin reaction tests. Treatment options include sperm washing, ICSI, or immunosuppressive therapy. The presence of high levels of antisperm antibodies may indicate the need for assisted reproductive techniques.
