AlloDerm is a processed acellular dermal matrix derived from human cadaveric skin tissue. The cellular components are removed while preserving the dermal matrix structure, creating a biological scaffold that supports tissue regeneration and revascularization. In burn surgery, AlloDerm is used for complex reconstructions, particularly when additional dermal thickness is needed or in areas requiring improved cosmetic outcomes. It integrates with host tissue over time and can be used with thin autografts.
