Biobrane is a biosynthetic wound dressing consisting of an ultrathin silicone membrane bonded to a flexible nylon fabric. The membrane contains pores that allow drainage while preventing bacterial penetration. Collagen peptides are bonded to the nylon mesh to promote adherence to wound surfaces. It is commonly used as a temporary covering for clean, superficial partial-thickness burns and donor sites, providing pain relief and promoting healing while protecting against infection.
