Skin graft processed with multiple small incisions to allow expansion and drainage.
Full Definition
A type of skin graft that has been processed through a meshing device to create multiple small, uniform incisions that allow the graft to expand to cover a larger surface area. The meshing pattern also permits drainage of fluid underneath the graft and better graft adherence. Mesh ratios commonly used include 1.5:1, 3:1, or 6:1, indicating how much the graft can be expanded from its original size.

Usage note: Contrast with sheet grafts, which are not meshed and provide better cosmetic results.
