BI-RADS 0

Breast imaging assessment indicating incomplete evaluation requiring additional imaging or comparison with prior studies.

Full Definition

BI-RADS Category 0 (Incomplete - Need Additional Imaging Evaluation) indicates that the initial mammographic evaluation is insufficient for a final assessment. This category is assigned when image quality is suboptimal, when comparison with prior studies is needed but unavailable, or when additional imaging modalities are required to complete the evaluation. BI-RADS 0 assessments are temporary and should not be used as final categories in screening reports.
