Full Definition

Device-device interaction (DDI) occurs when multiple implanted medical devices in the same patient interfere with each other's normal operation through electromagnetic coupling or mechanical proximity effects. Common scenarios include interactions between cardiac devices and neurostimulators, insulin pumps, or other implanted systems.
