Rate drop response (RDR) is a specialized pacing algorithm designed to detect and respond to sudden decreases in heart rate that may indicate vasovagal episodes, cardioinhibitory syncope, or other conditions causing bradycardia. When activated, the algorithm monitors for a specified drop in heart rate over a defined time period and responds by initiating temporary high-rate pacing to maintain cardiac output and prevent symptoms. The feature typically includes programmable parameters for rate drop detection criteria, intervention rate, and duration of response.
