Full Definition

A form of ventricular tachycardia characterized by regular rhythm and consistent QRS morphology from beat to beat, indicating a stable reentrant circuit typically located in areas of myocardial scar or fibrosis. Monomorphic VT most commonly occurs in patients with structural heart disease, particularly those with prior myocardial infarction or cardiomyopathy. The stable circuit allows for detailed electrophysiologic mapping and targeted ablation therapy. Clinical presentation varies from hemodynamically stable to unstable depending on cycle length and underlying ventricular function. Documentation must include cycle length, QRS morphology description, and hemodynamic tolerance.
