EMPEROR-Reduced (Empagliflozin Outcome Trial in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction) was a randomized controlled trial that enrolled nearly 3,800 patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, with or without diabetes. The trial demonstrated that empagliflozin significantly reduced the primary composite endpoint of cardiovascular death or hospitalization for heart failure compared to placebo.
