Transesophageal echocardiography; real-time cardiac imaging during surgery.

Full Definition

Transesophageal echocardiography is an advanced intraoperative monitoring technique where an ultrasound probe is positioned in the esophagus to provide real-time cardiac imaging. This allows continuous assessment of cardiac function, valve performance, and blood flow during cardiothoracic procedures.
