Steady-state free precession is the most commonly used pulse sequence for cardiac cine imaging in MRI. SSFP provides excellent contrast between blood (bright signal) and myocardium (intermediate signal) while maintaining high temporal and spatial resolution. The technique allows rapid image acquisition with good signal-to-noise ratio, making it ideal for functional assessment of cardiac chambers and real-time imaging applications.
