Digital Subtraction Angiography is a sophisticated imaging technique that enhances vascular visualization by digitally subtracting pre-contrast mask images from contrast-enhanced images. This process eliminates background structures, leaving only the contrast-filled vessels clearly visible. In cardiovascular radiology, DSA provides superior image quality for coronary angiography, peripheral vascular studies, and interventional procedures. The technique requires precise patient positioning and breath-holding to prevent motion artifacts that could compromise image quality.
