Full Definition

Target vessel revascularization (TVR) is defined as repeat percutaneous or surgical revascularization of any segment of the target vessel, extending beyond the immediate target lesion to include the entire coronary vessel from ostium to apex. TVR encompasses both target lesion revascularization and revascularization of other segments within the same vessel due to disease progression or procedural complications. This endpoint provides a vessel-level assessment of treatment effectiveness and captures both local device effects and vessel-wide disease progression. TVR classification requires careful anatomical definition of vessel boundaries, particularly at bifurcation points and in the setting of chronic total occlusions where collateral circulation may complicate vessel territory definition.
