Aggressive malignant tumor arising from sebaceous glands, commonly affecting the eyelid.
Full Definition
A rare but aggressive malignant tumor that arises from the sebaceous glands of the skin. While it can occur anywhere on the body, sebaceous carcinoma most commonly affects the eyelid, particularly the upper eyelid where it may mimic benign conditions like chalazion. The tumor has a high propensity for local invasion and can metastasize to regional lymph nodes and distant organs. Complete excision with clear margins is essential, and Mohs surgery is often preferred for eyelid lesions.

Usage note: Do not confuse with sebaceous adenoma, which is benign.
