Minimally invasive video-assisted thyroidectomy (MIVAT) is a surgical technique that uses a small central neck incision combined with endoscopic visualization to perform thyroidectomy procedures. This approach is suitable for small thyroid nodules, follicular neoplasms, and selected cases of thyroid cancer. The technique allows for improved visualization of critical structures while maintaining the cosmetic advantages of a smaller incision. Patient selection criteria include thyroid volume less than 25 mL and nodules smaller than 3.5 cm.
