Resin-Based Sealer
A root canal sealer composed of epoxy resin or methacrylate resin systems, used to fill voids between the core obturation material and the canal walls.

Resin-based sealers are a category of endodontic sealer in which the principal film-forming agent is a polymerised resin—most commonly an epoxy-amine or methacrylate formulation. They are valued for their low solubility, dimensional stability, and, in some systems, adhesive bonding to dentinal tubules. Common commercial examples include AH Plus and RealSeal. In manuscripts, editors should confirm consistent hyphenation: 'resin-based sealer' (hyphenate 'resin-based' as a compound modifier). These should not be conflated with zinc oxide–eugenol sealers or bioceramic sealers, which belong to distinct sealer categories.
Usage
Usage note: 'Resin-based' should always be hyphenated when used as a compound modifier before a noun. Do not abbreviate to 'resin sealer' in formal clinical documents without prior definition.
