Normal values vary by location, with fingertips typically demonstrating 2-4mm discrimination distance. The test can be performed as static two-point discrimination (stationary stimuli) or moving two-point discrimination (moving stimuli across the skin). Results help determine the success of nerve repairs and guide rehabilitation protocols in hand therapy.
