Olfactory neuroblastoma, also called esthesioneuroblastoma, is a rare malignant neuroectodermal tumor that arises from the olfactory epithelium in the superior nasal cavity. These tumors typically present with unilateral nasal obstruction, anosmia, and epistaxis, and have a propensity for intracranial extension through the cribriform plate. Staging is based on the Kadish classification system, with treatment typically involving combined endoscopic resection and radiation therapy. The tumor has a distinctive histological appearance with Homer Wright rosettes and requires specialized neuroendocrine markers for diagnosis.
