Non-Hodgkin lymphoma represents a diverse group of lymphoid neoplasms that lack the characteristic Reed-Sternberg cells seen in Hodgkin lymphoma. These malignancies can arise from B cells, T cells, or NK cells and are classified based on morphology, immunophenotype, genetic features, and clinical behavior. Unlike Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphomas tend to spread in a random, non-contiguous pattern and more frequently involve extranodal sites. The group includes both indolent lymphomas that progress slowly and aggressive lymphomas requiring immediate treatment.
