Inhibin B is a glycoprotein hormone produced by granulosa cells in ovarian follicles and Sertoli cells in the testes that provides negative feedback to the pituitary gland by suppressing FSH secretion. In women, inhibin B levels reflect the number and quality of developing follicles, making it a valuable marker of ovarian reserve. In men, inhibin B correlates with Sertoli cell function and spermatogenesis. Inhibin B testing is used in fertility assessment, evaluation of ovarian reserve, and monitoring of testicular function.
