The testing aims to diagnose conditions like Cushing's syndrome, Addison's disease, or stress-related hormone imbalances. Proper execution requires careful attention to timing, patient preparation, and environmental factors that could influence results. Interpretation must consider both the magnitude and pattern of hormone responses, as well as individual patient factors.
