Pathological fibrous connections between the greater omentum and other intra-abdominal structures, such as the abdominal wall, bowel, or reproductive organs. These adhesions typically result from previous surgery, inflammation, infection, or endometriosis. In laparoscopic procedures, omental adhesions are frequently encountered and may require careful division to achieve adequate visualization and access to target organs. The division must be performed carefully to avoid injury to underlying structures and to minimize bleeding from omental vessels.
