Brow presentation
Fetal malpresentation where the fetal brow is the presenting part during delivery.
Full Definition
A type of abnormal fetal presentation occurring in approximately 1 in 500-1500 deliveries, where the fetal head is partially extended with the brow (frontal area) presenting first. This presentation typically converts to either vertex or face presentation during labor, but persistent brow presentation usually requires cesarean delivery due to increased risk of obstructed labor and birth trauma.
