Full Definition
Axis II disorders represented enduring patterns of inner experience and behavior, including personality disorders like borderline, narcissistic, or antisocial personality disorder, as well as intellectual disabilities. These conditions were considered more stable and pervasive than Axis I disorders. Though DSM-5 eliminated the multiaxial system, the terminology appears in legacy documentation and insurance records.
