In neonatal care, maintaining appropriate oxygen saturation levels is crucial, as both low and high levels can cause harm. Target ranges vary based on gestational age, with premature infants often maintained at lower levels (88-95%) to prevent oxygen toxicity while ensuring adequate tissue oxygenation.
