Neuronal tumor is a category of brain neoplasms composed primarily of differentiated neuronal cells, which may occur alone or in combination with glial elements (forming neuronal and mixed neuronal-glial tumors). These tumors typically express neuronal markers such as synaptophysin and neurofilament protein, and often present with seizures due to their cortical location. Examples include gangliocytoma, ganglioglioma, and central neurocytoma. They generally have favorable prognoses compared to pure glial tumors.
