Sleep architecture analysis is a detailed assessment of the structure and organization of sleep cycles obtained through polysomnographic monitoring. This analysis examines the distribution and timing of different sleep stages (N1, N2, N3, and REM), the efficiency of transitions between stages, and the overall pattern of sleep throughout the recording period. Key parameters include sleep onset latency, REM latency, sleep efficiency, and the percentage of time spent in each sleep stage. The analysis is essential for diagnosing sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and REM behavior disorder. Results are typically presented in both tabular format and as a hypnogram showing the progression of sleep stages over time.
