A resting-state network is a collection of brain regions that exhibit temporally coherent, spontaneous fluctuations in BOLD signal during periods when participants are not performing explicit tasks. Resting-state analysis has become crucial for understanding brain organization and identifying biomarkers for neurological and psychiatric conditions.
