Region of interest (ROI) analysis is a fundamental quantitative technique in neuroimaging research and clinical practice. This method involves defining specific anatomical or functional brain regions and extracting statistical measures such as mean signal intensity, volume, or activation strength from these areas. ROI analysis can be performed manually by expert raters or automatically using brain atlases and segmentation algorithms. The technique is widely used in clinical trials, longitudinal studies, and diagnostic imaging to track disease progression, treatment response, and developmental changes.
