Histopathological finding characterized by inflammatory cell infiltration around blood vessels in the CNS.

Full Definition

This finding typically involves lymphocytes, macrophages, and other immune cells forming sleeve-like arrangements around cerebral vessels. Perivascular cuffing is commonly seen in multiple sclerosis, viral encephalitis, and other inflammatory CNS disorders, and represents a key indicator of blood-brain barrier disruption and immune cell infiltration.
