Multiband acceleration is an advanced MRI acquisition technique that simultaneously excites and acquires multiple slices using controlled aliasing and parallel imaging reconstruction. This method significantly reduces scan time by acquiring multiple slices in the time traditionally required for a single slice. Multiband acceleration is particularly valuable in functional MRI studies where improved temporal resolution enables better detection of neural dynamics and connectivity patterns.
