A sulcal depth map is a neuroanatomical visualization tool that quantifies the depth of cortical sulci (brain folds) by measuring the distance from the cortical surface to the deepest point within each sulcus. These maps are generated from high-resolution structural MRI data and are used to study cortical folding patterns, identify anatomical landmarks for registration, and investigate developmental or pathological changes in brain morphology.
