Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumor is a WHO Grade I benign cortical neoplasm characterized by multinodular architecture and specific glioneuronal elements. These tumors typically manifest in the first two decades of life with medically refractory epilepsy. DNTs have distinctive imaging characteristics including a 'bubbly' or soap-bubble appearance on MRI and are associated with cortical dysplasia. Complete surgical resection often provides seizure freedom without requiring adjuvant therapy.
