The Recommended Uniform Screening Panel is a list of conditions recommended by the federal Advisory Committee on Heritable Disorders in Newborns and Children for inclusion in state newborn screening programs. The RUSP currently includes over 35 core conditions plus secondary targets. States use this panel as guidance when determining their screening policies, though individual states may screen for additional conditions beyond the RUSP recommendations.
