Luxation is a traumatic dental injury involving displacement of the tooth within or from its alveolar socket. Types include lateral luxation (sideways displacement), intrusive luxation (tooth pushed into socket), extrusive luxation (tooth partially pulled from socket), and avulsion (complete displacement). Emergency management and timing of intervention significantly affect prognosis. Treatment may involve repositioning, splinting, or extraction depending on severity and patient factors.
