ClinCheck

Pronunciation: klin-check

Align Technology's proprietary 3D digital treatment planning software used to simulate and approve tooth movement sequences for Invisalign aligner therapy.

Full Definition

ClinCheck is a registered brand name belonging to Align Technology and refers to the computer-aided simulation platform through which orthodontists review and modify staged tooth movements before Invisalign aligners are manufactured. It produces animated previews, staging reports, and attachment placement guides. Editors must treat 'ClinCheck' as a proper noun requiring consistent capitalisation (capital C, capital C) and should not use it as a generic synonym for any digital treatment plan. Using it generically when referring to a competitor's planning software is both factually and legally incorrect.

Usage

Usage note: Capitalise both initial letters: ClinCheck. Do not italicise unless journal style demands italics for trade names.

  • "The clinician approved the ClinCheck plan after requesting additional torque on the upper canines." — Clinical case notes
