Full Definition
The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) staging system, also known as the Enneking staging system, is a surgical staging classification for bone and soft tissue sarcomas. The system considers three factors: tumor grade (G1 = low-grade, G2 = high-grade), anatomic site (T1 = intracompartmental, T2 = extracompartmental), and presence of metastasis (M0 = no metastasis, M1 = metastasis present). These factors combine to create stages IA, IB, IIA, IIB, and III, which guide treatment planning and prognosis determination in orthopedic oncology.
