A fixation device that combines conventional compression plating with locked screw technology for enhanced stability.

Full Definition

A locking compression plate (LCP) is an advanced orthopedic implant that incorporates both conventional compression holes and locking screw holes within the same plate design. This hybrid technology allows surgeons to achieve interfragmentary compression through standard screws while simultaneously creating a fixed-angle construct through locking screws. The locking mechanism prevents screw toggle and provides angular stability, making it particularly valuable in osteoporotic bone or comminuted fractures where conventional plating might fail.
