Hypomelanosis of Ito is a neurocutaneous disorder presenting as hypopigmented macules and patches arranged in whorls, streaks, and patches following Blaschko's lines. Unlike incontinentia pigmenti, it typically affects both sides of the body and may be associated with various neurological, skeletal, and ocular abnormalities. The condition is thought to represent chromosomal mosaicism and may become more apparent with sun exposure as surrounding skin darkens.
