Full Definition
A congenital brain malformation characterized by cystic dilatation of the fourth ventricle, partial or complete absence of the cerebellar vermis, and enlarged posterior fossa. This malformation can be associated with hydrocephalus and developmental delays. It is often identified on prenatal ultrasound or postnatal imaging studies. The condition may present with motor coordination problems, intellectual disability, or increased intracranial pressure symptoms.

Usage note: Often hyphenated; avoid confusion with Dandy-Walker variant, which is a milder form.
