These bacterial colonies are highly resistant to antibiotics and the body's immune response, often leading to chronic infection, capsular contracture, or implant failure. Biofilm-related complications may require implant removal, antibiotic therapy, and delayed reconstruction. Prevention strategies include proper surgical technique, antibiotic irrigation, and textured surface modifications.
