A complex reconstructive approach that involves the use of two separate free tissue flaps, typically from different donor sites, that are combined and connected to the same recipient vessels to create sufficient volume for breast reconstruction. This technique is reserved for patients requiring large volume reconstruction where a single flap would be insufficient. Common combinations include bilateral DIEP flaps or PAP flap with DIEP flap, requiring microsurgical expertise to ensure adequate perfusion of both tissue transfers.
